Assam: 5 injured, properties worth Rs 15 lakh gutted in fire incident in Bongaigaon
Guwahati, 11th March: Five people were injured after a massive fire broke out at Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district on March 10 night.
The fire broke out at Vadaipara under Lengtisinga police station of the district.
As per sources, three houses were also gutted in the fire.
The residences of Abdul Karim, Subur Ali, and Abdul Rahim of Bhadaipara were among those affected by the fire.
The incident was reportedly triggered by an explosion of a gas cylinder following a suspected electrical short circuit, leading to a panic among residents in the vicinity.
However, immediate action by fire tenders prevented the spread of the flames to a nearby school, averting further damage.
Local residents estimated that assets valued at approximately Rs 15 lakh, belonging to the three affected families, were destroyed in the blaze.
Efforts are underway to assess the extent of the damage and provide assistance to those affected by the unfortunate incident.
