Assam: 6 arrested in Barpeta advocate murder case
Guwahati: At least six people has been arrested in connection with recent advocate murder case in Assam’s Barpeta district.
The weapon used in the crime has been reportedly recovered by a team of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) from the Bhelengi river in Barpeta.
Sharing the development in the case the Barpeta Police officials wrote, “6 persons arrested and on being led by the arrested assailant, the weapon used in the crime recovered from Bhelengi river by a team of divers of SDRF. A land dispute led to the murder of Smt. Rinima Begum on 21.03.2022 in Barpeta town. Ref Barpeta PS C/No.338/2022.”

It may be mentioned that three people, including a lady, were arrested earlier in Banbariya, Bhella.
Meanwhile, Jakir Ali, a junior assistant at BDK High Madrassa, Ajanur Ali alias Tira Ali, and Munmun Begum were detained. Munmun Begum is the wife of Rinima Begum’s elder brother, Harun Ali.
It is to be noted that during a police operation in Bhella’s Banbaroya hamlet, one Bapan Ali was absconding but later surrendered at the Barpeta Sadar police station.
