Assam: AAP and Bhumi Putra Oikyo Mancha to contest jointly in Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Elections

Guwahati: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Assam Bhumi Putra Oikyo Mancha have announced a strategic alliance to contest the upcoming Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council elections jointly.

This decision was made public at a press conference held in Boko on March 11, where leaders from both parties declared their intention to contest together in 36 council constituencies within the Hasong region.

The final list of candidates is expected to be released soon, marking a significant collaboration aimed at strengthening their electoral prospects. Anurupa Dekarj, Vice President of AAP Assam, and Anil Rabha, President of Assam Bhumi Putra Oikyo Mancha, emphasized their commitment to the development of the Rabha Hasong region and the rights of indigenous communities during the press conference.

In a separate development, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has decided to contest the upcoming Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections independently in select constituencies. After a crucial meeting held at the AGP office in the Boko-Chaygaon constituency on March 10, party leaders decided to field candidates in 12 to 15 council constituencies, while extending support to NDA candidates in the remaining seats.
