Guwahati, 10th June: In a heart-wrenching incident, a newborn baby was found dead in a plastic bag which was floating in Bahini River of Guwahati.
The incident occurred in Bhetapara area of the city.
As per sources, the infant was allegedly abandoned by parents and the lifeless body was found near the Saraighat Housing Complex which was concealed within a sack.
Upon receiving information, Hatigaon police immediately arrived at the spot and recovered the body and sent it for postmortem examination.
Notably, police officials are currently investigating the matter into the incident.
