Assam: ABSU’s 57th Central Session to be Held in Dotma from February 6-9

Assam: The All Bodo Students Union’s (ABSU) 57th Central Session is scheduled to take place in Dotma, Kokrajhar district, from February 6 to 9, 2025. This four-day event will be held in Dotma, the birthplace of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, and extensive preparations are currently underway.

The temporary office of the welcoming committee for the session was inaugurated on November 29 at the Indoor Stadium of the Dotma Regional Sports Association by state Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma. Earlier, ABSU Central President Dipen Boro hoisted the organisation’s flag, marking the beginning of the preparations.

Speaking after the flag hoisting, Dipen Boro stated that the upcoming 57th Central Session in Dotma would be historic, focusing on nationalism, education, and socio-economic issues. The event will feature prominent guests, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who will be the chief guest at the opening session, and Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, who will engage in a discussion with 50,000 students.

The session will also see the participation of 5,000 representatives, and the old central committee of ABSU will be dissolved, with a new central committee being formed during the event. Lawrence Islary, the Chairman of the welcoming committee and MLA of Kokrajhar, has called on all sections of the public to extend their support to ensure the event’s success.
