Assam: ABVP Stages Protest in Dhubri Over Pahalgam Terror Attack, Demands Retaliatory Action Against Pakistan

Guwahati: Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Assam’s Dhubri district staged a fiery protest on Thursday, condemning the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley that claimed the lives of at least 28 tourists.

The protestors expressed their anger by burning Pakistani flags and chanting powerful slogans against the neighbouring country, demanding swift and stern action from the Indian government.

The demonstrators gathered in large numbers, voicing their grief and outrage over the brutal assault that took place in the scenic Pahalgam region, often referred to as “mini Switzerland.” Many protestors demanded a second Surgical Strike, while others made extreme calls to “wipe Pakistan off the map” in response to the bloodshed.

Despite the emotionally charged atmosphere, the protest remained peaceful, with police authorities maintaining strict security and ensuring that law and order were not disrupted. The protest reflected a growing sentiment of frustration and anguish among the youth, particularly over repeated incidents of cross-border terrorism.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir government has launched an extensive manhunt to track down the perpetrators behind the attack. Victims who sustained injuries have been shifted to hospitals for urgent medical care, and authorities have ramped up security across prominent tourist spots to prevent further incidents.

The attack has triggered nationwide outrage, with political leaders, civil society groups, and student organisations calling for national unity and demanding a bold response. The ABVP’s protest in Dhubri marked yet another public demonstration of the rising demand for accountability and justice in the wake of the tragic violence.
