Guwahati: In yet another incident, the dead remains of an adult elephant was found at Pengeri in Tinsukia district of Assam on Wednesday morning.
The incident was reported at Pengeri Khatanpani Range.
The lifeless body of the elephant was first spotted by locals, after which they informed forest officials.
According to reports, the deceased elephant had blood and froth coming out his mouth.
The cause of death could not be ascertained.
The exact cause of the death could be ascertained only after the post-mortem report is out.
Meanwhile, locals suspect that the elephant died to due to food poisoning.
