Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora Spotlights Tea Garden Community’s Electoral Impact Ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
Guwahati, 8th April: In anticipation of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Atul Bora, the Assam Agriculture Minister and representative of the Bokakhat Assembly constituency, has underscored the significant role of the tea garden community in shaping the electoral landscape of Assam.
Bora emphasizes that historically, the tea garden community has been a steadfast vote bank for the Congress party. However, he criticizes the party for neglecting the development needs of this demographic, highlighting ongoing challenges faced by the tea garden populace.
Lauding the efforts of the current government, led by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Bora acknowledges the strides made in addressing many of these issues.
Drawing attention to the tea garden electorate in his own constituency, Bora notes the substantial turnout of tea garden workers at a recent gathering featuring CM Sarma.
He highlights that the NDA’s candidate for the Kaziranga parliamentary seat hails from the tea garden community, suggesting a broader resonance of NDA’s agenda among this demographic.
Expressing confidence in the NDA’s prospects, Bora predicts victories for NDA candidates in constituencies where tea garden voters wield significant influence. He cites the government’s concerted efforts to tackle challenges faced by tea garden workers, including recent wage increases.
Bora asserts a prevailing sentiment in favor of the NDA, attributing it to a desire for continued development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He concludes by expressing confidence in the electorate’s alignment with the NDA’s vision for progress and their preference for Modi to serve another term as Prime Minister.
