Assam: Alleged Cattle Smuggler Shot by Police, Two Accomplices Arrested
Guwahati, 5th November: In Dhuturamari village, Tamarhat, under Dhubri district, an alleged cattle smuggler was reportedly shot by Assam police on November 4 while attempting to smuggle cattle. The individual, identified as Syed Ali from Pokalagi village in Tamarhat, was shot by police as he and two accomplices attempted to flee with the cattle.
The police arrested the two accomplices, Mizanur Rahman and Sahabor Paramanik, seizing two vehicles used for smuggling. The bullet-injured alleged cattle smuggler was admitted to Dhubri Medical College and later referred to Barpeta Medical College for further treatment.
The police are currently interrogating the arrested individuals to gather more information about the incident and potential linkages.
Cattle smuggling remains a significant issue in the region, and authorities are taking measures to combat such activities, sometimes involving the use of force.
