Assam and Tripura Police Apprehend Bangladeshi Nationals in Border Security Operations
Assam: In a decisive effort to curb infiltration attempts, the Assam Police apprehended six Bangladeshi nationals during heightened border surveillance operations.
The individuals, identified as Mustafizur Rahman, Kabbo Cruze, Md. Lelin Mia, Sirazul Islam, Saiful Islam, and Muktar Hussain, were deported promptly after legal procedures.
Assam Police remains steadfast in ensuring the region’s safety and security, addressing border-related challenges with vigilance and efficiency.
In a parallel development, Tripura Police detained six Bangladeshi nationals, including two minors, from Subhas Park in Khowai district on the night of December 19.
Officer-in-Charge of Khowai Police Station, Subir Malakar, revealed that the individuals were discovered at Roy Guest House near Khowai District Hospital.
“Based on information received, police personnel interrogated the individuals who provided contradictory statements and failed to present proper identification. Further questioning revealed that they had entered India illegally a few days ago and traveled to New Delhi before returning to Tripura to exfiltrate back to Bangladesh,” Malakar stated.
Tripura, which shares an 856-kilometer-long international border with Bangladesh, remains a critical point of focus for security agencies. Both Assam and Tripura authorities continue their efforts to monitor and prevent unauthorized cross-border movements, demonstrating their commitment to regional security and border integrity.
