In a separate but equally significant development, the state government has unveiled a scheme to strengthen regional cinema by offering ₹50 lakh each to 50 entrepreneurs for constructing new cinema halls.
“This initiative not only preserves our rich and vibrant cultural heritage but also provides a platform for local talent to flourish,” Borah shared on X, emphasizing Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vision for cultural growth.
Entrepreneurs interested in availing of the funding can submit their applications to the Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation by *February 20, 2025. Submissions can be made directly or by contacting 8876519296.
The dual efforts to honor cultural stalwarts and invest in cinema infrastructure reflect Assam’s commitment to fostering artistic excellence and preserving its cultural legacy.
