Assam: Another Govt Employee Held on Bribery Charges
Guwahati: The sleuths of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption cell of Assam police have arrested a government employee from Karimganj district of Assam while accepting bribe.
The arrestee has been identified as Ranjan Goswami.
According to Reports, Ranjan is employed as Lat Mondal at Karimganj Sadar Circle office.
Reportedly, Ranjan was arrested red-handed by the vigilance team as he was accepting money for mutation of land of the complainant.
Taking to Twitter, ADGP (Law & Order) GP Singh wrote, βAnother one for the day. Sri Ranjan Goswami @ Chanchal, Lat Mondal Karimganj Sadar Circle has been trapped and arrested red handed today by team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM while accepting demanded money for mutation of land of the complainant.β
According to Directorate Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, the accused demanded money for release of outstanding salary of the complainant.
The anti-corruption unit and the Assam Police are keeping a close eye on the state to stop all forms of corruption.
Earlier, numerous state government representatives have been exposed while receiving bribes.
