Assam: Anti-Narcotics Operations Seized Significant Amount of Drug
Guwahati, 24th November: In coordinated efforts, Assam law enforcement agencies conducted successful anti-narcotics operations resulting in substantial drug seizures. The Cachar police apprehended an individual in Silchar with 50,000 YABA tablets, sourced from a neighboring state, based on secret inputs.
Simultaneously, the Special Task Force in Guwahati recovered 29,000 tablets in an operation at Katahbari, leading to the arrest of two peddlers.
Additionally, the Balajan unit under Dhubri Police intercepted a vehicle in Balajan area, seizing a significant quantity of contraband drugs in a crackdown on illegal drug trafficking.
The operation, responding to a tip, resulted in the arrest of three individuals—Biswajit Ali, Harshjit Sheikh, and Asma Khatun—from Bongaigaon district.
The seized items included 100 grams of heroin concealed in soap boxes, emphasizing the authorities’ commitment to combatting drug-related crimes in the region.
