Guwahati, 9th April: The Congress party in Assam faces a tumultuous period marked by a string of resignations, with the latest blow coming from Assam Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Padmalochan Doley.
Doley’s resignation, tendered on April 9, reflects mounting discontent within the party ranks. In his resignation letter addressed to APCC president Bhupen Bora, Doley cited dissatisfaction with the party’s functioning as the primary reason for his decision.
Notably, Doley is anticipated to formalize his allegiance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during Union Minister Amit Shah’s rally in Lakhimpur today. The rally is expected to witness a significant influx of party leaders and workers crossing over to the saffron party.
