Assam: APCC President Asserts Abdul Khaleque to Withdraw Resignation Letter Tomorrow
Guwahati, 15th March: Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah made a significant visit to the residence of Abdul Khaleque on March 15, in the wake of Khaleque’s resignation following the denial of a Lok Sabha ticket. Amidst extensive discussions and assurances, Borah declared that Khaleque is poised to withdraw his resignation letter tomorrow.
Addressing the evolving situation, Bhupen Borah stated, “Abdul Khaleque understandably expressed his frustration. However, his sentiments have somewhat eased now. He has indicated his intention to retract his resignation letter, citing specific grievances. I have engaged in discussions with the All India Congress Committee (AICC), and I am confident that Abdul Khaleque’s concerns will be addressed by tomorrow.”
The sequence of events unfolded as Abdul Khaleque, visibly disheartened by the denial of a Lok Sabha ticket, tendered his resignation. However, Bhupen Borah’s proactive intervention and reassurances have injected a renewed sense of hope and optimism among party members.
Affirming his stance, Abdul Khaleque stated, “Tomorrow, I will provide further clarity on the situation. I have communicated my grievances to the party president and Jitendra Singh. I will await a resolution until 11 pm tomorrow. While it is true that I submitted my resignation letter, I maintain my trust in Sonia Gandhi, despite the challenges.”
