Assam: Armed Robbery in Tinsukia Foiled; Prime Suspect Arrested

Guwahati: A daring robbery took place in Tinsukia’s Pengeree Police Station jurisdiction yesterday evening at around 7:15 pm when four armed miscreants stormed a petrol pump in a red car and looted Rs 1.6 lakh in cash.

The criminals executed their plan swiftly, leaving the employees and customers in a state of shock.

However, the police responded quickly to the incident. A team led by SDPO Margherita set up roadblocks in the area, and within five hours, they successfully apprehended the prime suspect, Pallab Jyoti Chetia, in Barekuri.

Along with the arrest, the police recovered the getaway vehicle, a dao (weapon) used in the crime, and Rs 14,000 in cash. During questioning, the arrested suspect revealed the identities of the other culprits involved in the robbery.

Authorities have since launched an extensive search operation to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure that justice is served. The quick and efficient action of the police has brought some relief to the local community, while investigations continue.
