Assam: Arms and Ammunition Seized in Chirang District Near Bhutan Border, 1 Held
Guwahati, 30th October: In a strategic operation, police in Assam’s Chirang district have seized arms and ammunition close to the border with neighboring Bhutan.
Acting on intelligence, a police team from the Ranikhata police outpost carried out a raid in North Isalakhata, falling under the jurisdiction of the Sidli police station.
During the operation, the police searched the residence of an individual named Kamal Basumatary and uncovered concealed arms and ammunition.
The seized items included a 7.65 mm pistol and 12 live rounds of bullets.
Meanwhile, Kamal Basumatary has been taken into custody and is currently undergoing questioning at the Sidli police station.
