Assam, Arunachal Pradesh CMs meet to discuss Boundary Issues

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu in Guwahati to resolve long-standing boundary concerns between the two states on Monday.

Both the states agreed to perform a ground-level survey on boundary status in the meeting.

Sharing the news on Twitter, Assam CM wrote, “Solving boundary issues with neighbours is our priority. Discussed with Hon’ble CM of Arunachal Pradesh Sh @PemaKhanduBJP , who came all the way to Guwahati, measures for permanent solution to the long-pending issue. We decided to conduct ground level survey on boundary status.”

However, on the other hand, “Met Honble Chief Minister of Assam Shri @himantabiswa ji along with senior officers of Assam Government. Had detailed discussions on the boundary issue between the two states. We will sincerely work towards a permanent solution on this long pending issue”, Arunachal CM tweeted.

Meanwhile, Assam has border disputes with states like as Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Mizoram.
