Guwahati: The Assam Legislative Assembly’s autumn session is set to start from September 12. The session has been called by Professor Jagdish Mukhi, the governor of Assam.

The state legislative assembly’s session will begin at 9.30 am.

Rupjyoti Kurmi, the Assam state legislator from the Mariani district had already stated that the flood situation would be discussed in the state legislative assembly.

Kurmi had said that the terrible floods in Assam will be discussed in the upcoming session of the assembly, blaming the floods on the hydropower projects.

The Assam Legislative Assembly’s budget session started on March 14 and ended on April 1.

The state budget for 2022–2023 was submitted to the assembly on March 16 by Assam’s finance minister, Ajanta Neog.

It should be mentioned that the opposition in the Assam Assembly walked out in March over allegations that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had traded MLAs ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections at the time.
