Assam: Assistant Professor Assaulted by Group of Youths at South Salmara College
Guwahati, 6th February: An assistant professor at South Salmara College was reportedly assaulted by a group of 10 to 15 young individuals on Tuesday morning, sparking outrage in the locality after a video of the attack went viral on social media platforms.
The assailants stormed into the college campus and attacked Dr. Mojibur Rahman with their bare hands, forcing him from the verandah to the field where the assault continued.
In response to the incident, the victim professor, Dr. Mojibur Rahman, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against eight individuals at the South Salmara police station. The suspects have been identified as Surman Ali, Noor Haque, Bakkar Ali, Abdul Awal, Abu Shama, Hasanur Rahman, Noor Islam, and Sahirul Islam.
The assault has triggered widespread condemnation and outrage within the locality, highlighting the urgent need for swift and decisive action to address such acts of violence.
