Guwahati: At least four medals were won by Assam at the current National Games in Gujarat.
Sprinter Amlan Borgohain won the gold medal in the 100m competition. The race was completed by Borgohain in 10.38 seconds.
Assam cyclist Chayanika Gogoi took home the silver in the 10km category.
Meanwhile, Nayanmoni Saikia earned bronze in lawn bowling and Popi Hazarika won silver in the 59 kg weightlifting category.
The 36th National Games are being hosted in Gujarat for the very first time between September 29 and October 12.
There are close to 15,000 athletes, coaches, and officials competing from all across the nation in 36 different sports categories.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the National Games at Narendra Modi Stadium.
