Assam: A Bangladeshi national, Siham Uddin (30), escaped from police custody at Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) on Wednesday, November 20. Uddin, arrested two months ago for illegal entry into India, was under Hailakandi police custody.
Initially detained at the district jail, Uddin was admitted to SMCH on November 10 for medical treatment, citing health issues. Despite being guarded by three police personnel, he exploited a security lapse and fled the hospital premises.
An extensive manhunt has been launched to track down Uddin, and a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding the breach.
