Assam: Barpeta MP Phani Bhushan Choudhury Hospitalized with Respiratory Complications

Assam: Phani Bhushan Choudhury, the Member of Parliament from Barpeta and a senior leader of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), has been admitted to a private hospital in Guwahati due to respiratory complications. Choudhury was rushed to the hospital after experiencing difficulty breathing, and hospital authorities have stated that his condition has stabilized following medical intervention.

Although his condition has improved, Choudhury remains under close observation as doctors continue to monitor his progress. Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah visited the hospital on December 25 to inquire about Choudhury’s health and expressed optimism about his recovery after being briefed by the medical team.

“All necessary medical care is being provided, and we are hopeful for his swift recuperation,” Baruah told reporters. Choudhury, born on May 1, 1952, is a veteran politician who has served as a Member of the Assam Legislative Assembly for over three decades and has held various ministerial portfolios.
