Guwahati, 29th August: In Barpeta, Assam, a tense police operation concluded late Tuesday night with injuries to notorious dacoit Magarav Ali and police constable Nomal Gohain. The confrontation occurred at Goroimari Pathar village as authorities sought to recover stolen money hidden by Ali.
Magarav Ali, known for his criminal record including multiple thefts and an ATM robbery, was apprehended by Barpeta Police. While being led to the location of the stolen money, Ali attempted to flee and attacked Constable Gohain. The escalating situation led the police to open fire, resulting in an injury to Ali’s right leg. Both Ali and Gohain were subsequently taken to Barpeta Medical College Hospital for treatment.
