Assam: Bir Lachit Sena Leader Calls for Mass Agitation Against CAA

Guwahati, 12th March: Expressing strong resentment against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Bir Lachit Sena leader Shrinkhal Chaliha announced a mass agitation against the Act on March 12.

During a press meet held in Sivasagar, Chaliha emphasized the sacrifices made during the CAA protest, stating, “People who have not sacrificed will not understand the value of martyr’s sacrifice. We understand the value of martyr’s blood and their sacrifice, hence we will fight against the BJP government.”

Chaliha urged all regional political parties to declare a unified protest with Assam Bandh, emphasizing the continuation of the protest. He likened the protest to a cricket match, asserting that just as India plays again after losing a match, the protest will persist on the road.

Furthermore, Chaliha declared his readiness to go to Delhi if necessary and urged people to boycott the elections. He appealed to all opposition political leaders, irrespective of caste and politics, to unify and fight against the cause of CAA.

In addition to Bir Lachit Sena, several other political parties and organizations have initiated protests across the state, demanding the repeal of CAA.
