Guwahati, 10th September: Assam BJP leader Mission Ranjan Das on September 10 was officially sworn in as a Member of the Rajya Sabha during a ceremony at the Parliament House. The oath was administered by Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Das, a former MLA from Karimganj and the current chairman of the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC), took the oath alongside Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee, who was also sworn in as a newly elected Rajya Sabha Member. Their induction is part of the BJP’s strategic moves as Rajya Sabha bye-elections approach.

During the oath-taking ceremony, Vice President Dhankhar highlighted the constitutional importance of the event, stressing adherence to the procedure outlined in Article 99 of the Constitution. He warned that any deviations from the standard oath format could diminish its significance.
