Assam: BJP Minister Accuses Akhil Gogoi of Plotting Against Congress Candidates

Guwahati, 18th March: Pijush Hazarika has leveled accusations against Akhil Gogoi, alleging a conspiracy to defeat Gaurav Gogoi and Lurin Jyoti Gogoi in the Jorhat and Dibrugarh constituencies. Speaking to the media in Sivasagar, Hazarika claimed that Akhil Gogoi’s actions have strategically positioned Gaurav and Lurin Jyoti for defeat in their respective constituencies.

Hazarika expressed confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects, particularly in Jorhat, where he predicted a significant victory margin for Tapan Gogoi over Gaurav Gogoi. He also anticipated a similar outcome in Dibrugarh, with Sarbananda Sonowal emerging victorious over Lurin Jyoti Gogoi by a substantial margin.

These allegations have sparked political tensions in the region, adding further complexity to an already contentious electoral landscape.

Earlier, on March 17, Pijush Hazarika had criticized Gaurav Gogoi’s suggestion of contesting from Kaliabor instead of Jorhat, deeming it an insult to the people of Jorhat. Hazarika emphasized the importance of aligning with the aspirations of constituents and reiterated BJP’s commitment to serving the nation above partisan interests.
