Guwahati: Neeraj Hazarika, son of Padma Hazarika, the BJP MLA from Sootea has appeared at the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Guwahati today.
Neeraj has appeared in connection with a criminal defamation case filed against him by Congress leader Partha Pratim Borah.
According to the complaint, Neeraj Hazarika allegedly made defamatory and derogatory remarks against Partha Pratim Borah during a Facebook Live session, aiming to malign the Congress leader’s public image.
The case marks a notable legal turn involving a family member of a senior ruling party legislator and a prominent opposition leader.
Further proceedings in the case are awaited.
