Assam BJP President Expresses Confidence in Winning All Lok Sabha Seats
Guwahati, 3rd March: Assam BJP president Bhabesh Kalita has expressed strong confidence in the BJP-led NDA alliance winning all fourteen seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing the media after the announcement of the first list of BJP’s candidates, where candidates for 11 seats were unveiled, Kalita stated that BJP would secure victory in all 11 seats, with the remaining three seats won by BJP’s allies in the state.
“We are elated by the selections. We are certain that our candidates will win all eleven seats, and our allies will secure victory in the remaining three. In the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, BJP and its allies will sweep all fourteen Lok Sabha seats in the state,” said Kalita.
According to the saffron party’s announcement, BJP candidates for various seats include Bijuli Kalita Medhi for Guwahati Lok Sabha seat, Sarbananda Sonowal for Dibrugarh, Kamakhya Prasad Tasa for Kaziranga, Tapan Gogoi for Jorhat, Ranjit Dutta for Tezpur, Udalguri for Darang-Dilip Saikia, Kripanath Mallah for Karimganj, Parimal Suklabaidya for Silchar, Suresh Bora for Nagaon, Pradan Barua for Lakhimpur, and Amar Singh Tiso for Diphu.
In the upcoming election, BJP will contest 11 out of 14 seats, with two seats allocated to its allies AGP (Barpeta and Dhubri) and one to the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) in Kokrajhar.
Kalita added that their ally, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), is poised to win in Dhubri, citing dissatisfaction with AIUDF supremo Badruddin Ajmal’s performance.
“Badruddin Ajmal has been the MP from Dhubri for a long time but has not focused on development. The voters want development, so they will vote for Modi ji and our alliance party,” said Kalita.
Furthermore, Kalita remarked on the Congress party’s delayed candidate announcement, suggesting internal disarray. He predicted more defections once Congress reveals its list, emphasizing the BJP’s strong position in the state.
