Assam: BJP Releases Initial List of Candidates for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
Guwahati, 2nd March: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its initial list of candidates for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, including contenders from Assam.
The announced lineup comprises prominent figures expected to represent the party in diverse constituencies across the state.
According to party sources, the prospective candidates for Assam’s Lok Sabha seats are as follows:
- Guwahati: Bijuli Kalita Medhi
- Dibrugarh: Sarbananda Sonowal
- Kaziranga: Kamakhya Prasad Tasa
- Jorhat: Tapan Gogoi
- Tezpur: Ranjit Dutta
- Darang-Udalguri: Dilip Saikia
- Karimganj: Kripanath Mallah
- Silchar: Parimal Suklabaidya
- Nagaon: Suresh Bora
- Lakhimpur: Pradan Barua
- Diphu: Amar Singh Tiso

In the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, the BJP aims to contest 11 out of 14 seats, with two seats allocated to its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) for Barpeta and Dhubri constituencies, and one seat to the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) for Kokrajhar.
The party expresses optimism regarding its prospects in the forthcoming elections.
