Assam Boat Tragedy: Prime Accused Makes Shocking Confessions

Assam: A shocking turn of events has emerged in the investigation of the tragic Dinjan boat accident. Amrish Mipun, the prime accused, has confessed to a heinous act that has left the community in disbelief.

Mipun, who surrendered to the police on Wednesday, admitted to deliberately preventing Manoj Payaria, a local hero who risked his life to save others during the accident, from boarding the ill-fated boat. In a chilling revelation, Mipun confessed to physically assaulting Payaria, kicking him into the turbulent waters of the Dibru River.

The incident occurred on November 18, when a boat carrying four passengers capsized. Payaria, along with other locals, bravely jumped into the river to rescue the victims. Despite his heroic efforts, he mysteriously disappeared after the rescue operation.

Eyewitnesses have corroborated Payaria’s bravery, describing how he fought against strong currents to save the lives of others. However, the tragic twist to the story is that Payaria was subsequently denied a seat on the same boat he had risked his life to save others from.

Following a police raid in Dodhia, Mipun initially evaded arrest but later surrendered at the Jonai police station. After a medical examination, he was transferred to Tinsukia for further interrogation.

As investigations deepen, the community remains shocked and saddened by the tragic turn of events. The incident has raised serious questions about the safety of river transportation and the need for stricter regulations to prevent such tragedies.
