Assam: Bodoland People’s Front Foresees Victory in Two Lok Sabha Seats, Vows Neutrality Post-Election
Guwahati, 7th May: Hagrama Mohilary, the leader of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), asserted on Tuesday that his party is poised to secure victory in at least two of the four Lok Sabha seats it is contesting.
Maintaining a stance of neutrality, Mohilary emphasized that regardless of the election outcome, the BPF would refrain from aligning with either the NDA or INDIA blocs. Speaking after casting his vote, Mohilary expressed confidence in the BPF candidates nominated across Sonitpur, Darrang-Udalguri, Barpeta, and Kokrajhar constituencies. He confidently stated, “We will surely win the Darrang-Udalguri and Kokrajhar seats.”
Discussing the ongoing voting process in Kokrajhar during the third phase, Mohilary exuded optimism, predicting a victory margin exceeding 2 lakh votes. He cited widespread support for the BPF at polling booths as a testament to the party’s strength in the region.
Mohilary urged voters to participate fearlessly in the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of free, fair, and peaceful elections. Addressing queries about potential post-election alliances, Mohilary reiterated the BPF’s commitment to maintaining neutrality. He clarified, “We will not join any alliance post-poll. We have contested elections independently and will continue to do so.”
Responding to allegations leveled against the BPF by the BJP and its ally UPPL, Mohilary dismissed them as baseless, highlighting the lack of evidence to substantiate the claims. Despite challenges and allegations, Mohilary affirmed the BPF’s determination to uphold its principles and pursue its electoral goals independently.
