Assam: Bodoland People’s Front Gears Up for BTC Elections as Dr. Rezaul Karim Submits Nomination
Guwahati: The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), the opposition party in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), is preparing for a highly anticipated electoral contest as the deadline for candidacy applications for the upcoming BTC elections nears.
January 30 marks the final day for the submission of nominations, and the party is already making its moves in the race.
On this crucial day, Dr. Rezaul Karim, the BPF’s organisational secretary, officially submitted his nomination for candidacy from the Fakiragram BTC Council constituency.
Accompanied by a large group of supporters, Dr. Karim presented the necessary documents at the central BPF office located on JD Road in Kokrajhar. His submission was met with enthusiasm from his supporters, as he expressed confidence in securing a strong position in the upcoming election.
The nomination process took place in the presence of BPF’s election review committee, who officially accepted Dr. Karim’s application, confirming his candidacy for the highly competitive elections.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Karim affirmed his readiness for the electoral battle ahead, expressing optimism about his prospects.
However, the move has sparked internal reactions within the party. Arup Kumar Dey, the current executive member, made some strong remarks regarding the development, signaling a possible rift or discord within the party ranks as the elections draw closer.
With the nomination process now concluded, the political landscape in BTC is expected to become even more intense, with various factions within the BPF and other parties vying for dominance.
As the election campaign heats up, political analysts and voters alike will be keeping a close eye on the unfolding dynamics in the Bodoland Territorial Council.
