Guwahati: The third edition of the Bodoland Sports Meet 2024-25 was officially inaugurated today at Kokrajhar Sai Stadium.
Organized under the aegis of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Government, this flagship event aims to foster regional unity and provide a platform for the sporting talents of Bodoland.
The opening ceremony was graced by BTR Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro and Daobaicha Boro, Executive Member of BTC’s Sports and Youth Welfare Department. Both leaders emphasized the pivotal role of sports in nurturing talent and building camaraderie among communities within the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The sports meet features competitions in athletics, volleyball, and kabaddi, with participants representing all five districts of the BTR—Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur, and Udalguri. The event provides an opportunity for athletes and teams to showcase their skills on a prominent platform.
In his address, CEM Pramod Boro announced a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing sports infrastructure and fostering youth development in the region. He reiterated the BTC Government’s commitment to using sports as a vehicle for progress, empowerment, and regional growth.
The Bodoland Sports Meet has become a hallmark event, celebrating sportsmanship, talent, and unity while contributing to the holistic development of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
