Assam: Body Found in Goods Truck in Kaliabor, Suspected Hijacking

Guwahati, 22nd March: In a disturbing discovery, a body was found in a goods truck in Bandardubi, Kaliabor district, Assam. The truck, which was loaded with cement, had traveled from Meghalaya to Nagaon’s Samaguri area, raising suspicions of foul play.

Authorities suspect a hijacking scenario, with the alleged hijacker believed to have murdered the driver, identified as Niklas Dhar, before driving the vehicle towards upper Assam. The suspected hijacker, who was driving the truck at the time, has been apprehended by Jakhalabandha police.

Truck owner Sarabjit Singh raised the alarm, alerting the police about the suspected hijacking. Upon receiving the report, Jakhalabandha police swiftly seized the vehicle in Bandardubi to investigate further.

A team comprising magistrates and forensic experts is en route to the location to conduct a thorough examination of the truck and the surrounding area. The truck’s registration number, NL 01 AA 6213, will aid in the ongoing investigation into this troubling incident.
