Margherita: The body of 5-year-old Abhimanyu Chakraborty, who had been missing since Friday, was tragically discovered floating in the Buridehing River near Margherita on Monday. Abhimanyu disappeared during Durga Puja celebrations from his grandfather’s home in Lazum ward number 4, sparking a four-day search that gripped the local community.
Margherita police, along with the Executive Magistrate, recovered the boy’s body, which has since been sent to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. His disappearance and the somber discovery have cast a pall of grief over the Margherita Co-District, leaving the community in mourning.
