Assam: Bokakhat Rocked by Grenade Attack, Three Cops Injured
Bokakhat, Assam – A suspected grenade attack at the Sapjuri Panbari camp on Tuesday evening, June 24, has left three Assam Police personnel seriously injured and sent shockwaves through the Golaghat district. The incident has triggered an immediate and extensive security operation, with authorities on high alert.
The explosive device, as per preliminary reports, was allegedly hurled at the security establishment from a speeding motorcycle, strongly suggesting a deliberate and targeted act. The sudden, deafening blast caused widespread panic among local residents and prompted a swift and decisive response from the men in uniform.
The injured personnel, identified as Siddhartha Borbora, Sushil Bhumij, and Mintu Hazarika, sustained considerable injuries and were promptly rushed to Bokakhat Civil Hospital for urgent medical attention. Their condition is being closely monitored.
In the immediate aftermath of the brazen attack, security forces, under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), launched a massive manhunt across Bokakhat and its adjoining areas to apprehend the culprits.
