Assam: Border Security Force in Karimganj Apprehends Bangladeshi National after Swimming Across Kushiyara River

Guwahati, 16th November: In a recent development, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel apprehended a Bangladeshi national on November 15 after he swam across the Kushiyara River, attempting to enter Assam.

The detained individual has been identified as Pranjit Roy, a resident of Jakiganj in Bangladesh.

Upon intercepting Pranjit Roy, the BSF promptly detained him and lodged a formal complaint with the Sadar police station in Karimganj.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Pratap Das, provided insights into the incident during a media briefing, stating, “He was apprehended by BSF. His name is Pranjit Roy, S/O Satyendra Roy, resident of Jakiganj, Bangladesh. A case has been registered against the arrested person. He revealed that he came here to meet his relatives.”

As the authorities delve into the matter, the police are interrogating Pranjit Roy to uncover further details regarding his motive for entering India.
