Assam: BPF Aspirant Amol Barua Steps Up Grassroots Campaign Ahead of BTC Polls in Salbari
Guwahati: With the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections approaching, political momentum is gaining pace across Assam’s Bodoland region. In Baksa district, aspirants vying for party nominations from the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) have begun ramping up their grassroots activities to secure a place on the final candidate list.
Amol Barua, a prominent BPF hopeful from the Salbari constituency, has emerged as one of the most active contenders on the ground. In a bid to strengthen his connection with the electorate and demonstrate his leadership capabilities, Barua has initiated a wide-reaching public engagement campaign. His efforts include frequent interactions with local organisations, youth groups, and community leaders across the constituency.
Beyond public events, Barua has also turned his home into a hub of political dialogue, regularly inviting influential individuals from different walks of life for informal consultations and strategic discussions. His approach, combining both outreach and in-house diplomacy, signals a strong intent to position himself as a people’s candidate.
Speaking to reporters, Barua confirmed that four individuals have applied for the BPF ticket from Salbari. Expressing optimism about his prospects, he stated that if chosen by the party, he would dedicate himself to the comprehensive development of the constituency — with a focus on inclusive growth, local empowerment, and transparent governance.
As the BPF gears up to finalise its list of candidates, the unfolding political activity in Salbari offers an early glimpse into the competitive landscape of the upcoming BTC elections.
