Assam: Brahmaputra Mail becomes the passenger train to run solely on electric traction
Guwahati: The first passenger train to run solely on electric traction arrived at Kamakhya station on 22 October, marking a crucial milestone towards green transportation.
On Friday, the train No. 05956 Delhi – Kamakhya (Brahmaputra) Mail Special, which left from the national capital city at 13:30 hours and covered more than 2000 kilometers on electric traction, arrived at Kamakhya station in Guwahati at 13:30 hours.
Similarly, train No. 05955 Kamakhya – Delhi (Brahmaputra) Mail Special, which used electric traction, left Kamakhya station for Delhi at 14:30 hours today.
It may be, mentioned that the Northeast Frontier Railway ran its first package train on electric traction up to Kamakhya station on October 21, 2021, marking a milestone for the N. F. Railway and the North-eastern region.
