Assam: Brahmaputra mail hits bull, railway traffic hits for hours

Guwahati: Following the breakdown of the overhead equipment (OHE) on the Delhi-Howrah rail line, there was a minimum 10-hour delay in train service.

The OHE broke after the Brahmaputra Mail struck a bull.

This was informed by a senior Railway official on Saturday.

The incident took place when the train was on its way to Delhi from Dibrugarh in Assam.

The train ran over a bull near the Bharwari railway station in Uttar Pradesh.

All trains farther up the line was stopped after the incident.

A railroad crew from Prayagraj (Allahabad) arrived at the scene of the accident and fixed the line.

Other significant trains, including the Lichchavi Express, Mahabodhi Express, and Purushottam Express, were stopped at earlier stations as a result of the incident.

The railway official reported that no one was wounded in the incident.
