Assam: Brahmaputra Riverfront Development Project to be Launched in March
Guwahati: The Brahmaputra Riverfront Development project in Guwahati will be launch in March.
The minister of housing and urban affairs for Assam Ashok Singhal said this.
Singhal stated that there would be options for locals and visitors to sit in the open. The route from Bharalu to Sukreswar, on the other hand, is also under construction.
Ashok Singhal and other authorities from his department reviewed the project’s construction on Wednesday morning. The 1,200-meter riverfront development project will run from the new DC Bungalow to Kacharighat.
The riverside will have a park, sitting areas, refreshment stations, locations for cultural events and many more.
Singhal also addressed the issue of Guwahati’s air pollution in his speech. He claimed that the city’s pollution level is rising at an alarming rate as a result of the ongoing construction on numerous projects.
The Urban Affairs minister said, “Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) workers have been instructed to dispose sewage from pits within 2 to 3 days. There is a lot of construction work going on for various projects due to which pollution level is increasing. We do not have water spraying facilities to reduce pollution and dust.”
“The pollution Control Board has submitted a draft to the state government for taking measures to reduce pollution. But the departmental ministers are not aware of the draft submitted to the government,” Singhal further said.
