Assam: Brief Absence of Supervision at Salbari Primary School Causes Parental Concern
Guwahati, Assam – A minor incident at Pub Ujan Bahbari Primary School in Salbari on Saturday, April 5th, led to a brief period of unease among parents after reports emerged of students being left without direct supervision during school hours.
Headmaster Birbahadur Chetry has since offered a detailed explanation regarding the situation. He stated that an unforeseen personal emergency necessitated his urgent departure from the school premises to attend to his wife, who required immediate medical assistance.
Prior to leaving, Chetry affirmed that he had officially entrusted the responsibility of school supervision to two assistant teachers to maintain the continuity of academic activities.
Subsequently, in an unexpected development, both of the designated assistant teachers also temporarily left the school grounds to inquire about the well-being of the Headmaster’s family.
It was during this brief interval that some parents visiting the school noticed the absence of staff members, prompting them to voice their concerns regarding the lack of supervision.
Headmaster Chetry addressed the media directly, providing an on-the-record clarification. He emphasized that the lapse in supervision was unintentional and temporary, and he assured the community that measures would be implemented to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
The incident has initiated discussions within the community regarding the importance of robust emergency protocols and the necessity for enhanced contingency plans within rural educational institutions.
