Guwahati, 7th July: In a chilling incident under the jurisdiction of Chardwara police station in Sonitpur district’s remote Kothaljuli area, Laodang Basumatary was found brutally murdered in her home, sending shockwaves through the community.
Basumatary, the victim, was abducted from her residence during the night by an unidentified assailant and subjected to a vicious attack with a sharp weapon. Her disfigured body was discovered by family members the following morning, prompting immediate outcry and demands for justice.
Chardwara police swiftly responded to the incident, recovering the victim’s body and securing a sharp weapon believed to have been used in the murder. An intensive manhunt for the perpetrator is underway as authorities work to bring them to justice.
