Assam: BSF Apprehends Two Suspects for Cattle Smuggling near Indo-Bangladesh Border

Dhubri: The 66 Bn Border Security Force (BSF) has arrested two Indian individuals suspected of involvement in cattle smuggling near the Indo-Bangladesh border under Gaspara Gaon Panchayat on Monday afternoon, around 3:30 PM.

The suspects, identified as Ainul Hoque (son of Golap Uddin) and Abdul Rashid (son of Syed Ali), both residents of Sastarghat in Patamari Gaon Panchayat, were apprehended during an operation aimed at securing the border.

In addition to the suspects, the BSF also seized Rs 1 lakh in cash, believed to be linked to the illegal activities.

Following their arrest, the two individuals were handed over to Dhubri Sadar Police Station for further investigation. Authorities are probing their potential connections to cross-border smuggling networks. Legal action is expected to follow.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the BSF to combat illegal cattle trade along Assam’s sensitive border regions with Bangladesh.
