Assam: BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary Inspects India-Bangladesh Border in Shri Bhumi District
Shri Bhumi, Assam – The Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chaudhary, arrived in Shri Bhumi district to conduct an inspection of the India-Bangladesh border on Tuesday. His arrival was marked by a ceremonial welcome, with a BSF aircraft landing at the government school playground, where he was greeted by BSF IGP, DIG, and local police officials.
A traditional fulam gamocha (Assamese ceremonial scarf) was presented as a part of the welcoming ceremony before he embarked on a convoy to the Steamerghat Border Outpost (BOP), which lies at the critical India-Bangladesh border in Shri Bhumi town.
Sources indicate that the BSF Chief’s visit primarily focuses on assessing troop deployment and reviewing the prevailing security situation along the border. Given the current geopolitical scenario, it is expected that discussions will also include the deteriorating Indo-Bangladesh relations.
This visit holds added significance due to recent developments, including an increase in Chinese and ISI activities in the neighboring region. Additionally, reports have surfaced about anti-India elements being released from Bangladesh prisons, along with an escalation in incidents of persecution against the Hindu community.
In this tense atmosphere, the BSF Chief’s presence at the Shri Bhumi border emphasizes the heightened importance of security and preparedness in safeguarding India’s territorial integrity.
