Assam: BSF Lodges Protest After Abduction of Personnel by Bangladeshi Miscreants Near India-Bangladesh Border
Guwahati, 25th September: In a significant security breach along the India-Bangladesh border, the Border Security Force (BSF) has formally protested to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) after one of its personnel was abducted by Bangladeshi miscreants. The incident occurred during a routine BSF patrol near the Biral border in Dinajpur, India.
A group of 15 to 20 Bangladeshi nationals reportedly crossed into Indian territory, forcibly abducting the BSF jawan and transporting him into Bangladesh. He was later handed over to the BGB.
The Inspector General of BSF North Bengal immediately contacted the Region Commander of BGB’s North West Region, demanding the jawan’s safe release. Diplomatic and security discussions followed, leading to a high-level meeting between the Sector Commanders of both forces.
Following the talks, the BGB returned the abducted BSF personnel, ensuring his safe return to India. The BSF has expressed serious concerns over the security breach and is engaging with the BGB to prevent future incidents of this nature.
