Assam: BSF Seizes Liquor and Buffaloes in Special Border Operations
Guwahati, 30th March: In a proactive effort to counter cross-border crimes, the Border Security Force (BSF) conducted special operations near the India-Bangladesh border, resulting in significant seizures.
One operation, carried out in Salapara, South Salmara-Mankachar District under the Dhubri BSF sector, led to the seizure of 1,298 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) valued at approximately Rs 2 lakh. Concurrently, in another operation in Sarkarpara, the forces intercepted and seized 12 smuggled buffaloes.
The BSF’s Intelligence Branch played a pivotal role in these successful operations, demonstrating heightened vigilance in anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the BSF executed these operations effectively, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining border security and thwarting illicit activities.
These seizures highlight the persistent challenges posed by cross-border smuggling and underscore the BSF’s resolve to combat such activities. By preventing the illegal influx of goods and livestock, these operations contribute to safeguarding national interests and upholding law and order along the India-Bangladesh border.
