Assam: BTC Government Celebrates Four Years of Progress and Peace Under Pramod Boro’s Leadership
Assam: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) government, led by Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro, is celebrating four years of governance marked by progress, peace, and sustainable development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The milestone underscores the administration’s dedication to creating a peaceful, environmentally sustainable, and technologically advanced Bodoland.
Speaking at the inauguration of a Rs 2 crore academy building at Kokrajhar Science College, CEM Pramod Boro reflected on the journey since his administration took office in 2020. He emphasized the government’s efforts to foster sustainable peace, drive green initiatives, and build a “Smart Bodoland” through innovative governance and public welfare programs.
“There were rumors, especially from the opposition, about the collapse of our government in its initial months,” Boro stated. “However, we stayed committed to building a peaceful and secure Bodoland and worked tirelessly for the welfare and development of the region.”
Environmental conservation has been a cornerstone of the BTC government’s agenda, with significant strides made in preserving BTR’s natural heritage. The establishment of Raimana National Park and Siknajhar National Park has highlighted the administration’s dedication to protecting biodiversity and fostering a “Green Bodoland.”
On the technological front, the government has implemented an E-office system to modernize land record management and streamline departmental operations. Additionally, the introduction of BTR schemes to monitor development projects has enhanced transparency and accountability in governance.
Boro reiterated the government’s focus on public safety, effective administration, and service delivery, noting, “We have built a stable and functional administration, prioritising the welfare of the common people.”
The BTC government’s fourth-anniversary celebrations, themed “Regaining Sustainable Peace, Harmony, and Integrity,” are being held in Bhergaon, Udalguri, on December 14 and 15, 2024. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is attending the event as the chief guest on December 15, symbolizing state-level recognition of the region’s progress.
As the BTC government marks this significant milestone, it remains committed to advancing developmental initiatives, fostering harmony, and ensuring lasting peace and prosperity in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
