Assam: Bus Accident Leaves Over 20 Injured in Patharkandi
Assam: Over 20 passengers has been injured after the bus they were travelling veered off and plunged into a roadside ditch in Karimganj’s Patharkandi of Assam.
The incident took place in the Baithakhal area of the district.
As per sources, the passenger bus was traveling from Rengmati, near the Assam-Mizoram border, to Karimganj when the accident occurred.
The accident left more than 20 passengers with significant injuries and prompted an immediate response from local authorities and emergency services.
The crash took place on a notoriously hazardous section of the highway, where rescue teams arrived immediately, using a JCB machine to assist in freeing passengers trapped inside the overturned vehicle.
Emergency responders immediately transported the injured to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, with officials working to determine whether poor road conditions or mechanical failure played a role.
